Sandra Loades, CCC, RSW (she/her)
My intention is to be a caring and empathetic therapist for each person who enters counselling.
I believe that people are inherently good and capable of living with integrity for themselves and others. I aim to help individuals to recognize their value as a person and gain insight into what may be getting in the way of fully embracing life. I will treat everyone with dignity and respect, upholding the central principles of the counselling profession. |
What I offer:
I have been trained to provide different types of therapy, however Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is the leading therapy approach for resolving trauma. I am an Attachment Focused (AF) EMDR therapist trained with the Parnell Institute, and offer this specialized service at Compass Trauma Counselling.
Because AF-EMDR is my specialization, I usually see clients who are seeking EMDR therapy. Though I may draw on other modalities, my therapy approach is best suited for for adults who are interested in EMDR and ready to begin healing their trauma experience.

The compass in Compass Trauma Counselling: When you see a compass, what do you think of? How is it used? A compass is device that helps us to know where we are and to find our way. We all get off course from time to time and occasionally need support to get back on track. As your therapist, I trust that you have an innate ability to heal, and my role is to assist you to find your way towards healing, much like a compass that assists us to find our way in life. |
